How This Works

Every 2 weeks, we will have a poll to eliminate a band from HMR... sort of...

1) You can make suggestions here for which bands you'd like to see compete to be voted off
2) Every 2 weeks, I (or Necrophaige) will pick 2 bands and put them head-to-head in a poll
3) The band with the most votes will be removed from Killbot's playlist, the band will still be available for requests
4) The band not vote off HMR will be safe for 1 year

Anything that will stop some users from complaining all the time sounds like a good plan to me.

They aren't very metal, they aren't very good and killbot plays them all the time :D

A resticted section sounds like a really good idea, but it would need to include some way of limiting requests from it as well. Getting a band out of rotation that 99% of the listeners don't like wouldn't be much use if someone could request them every hour.

meh not going to vote then. the problem is the bands getting requested, not killbot playing them. rarely happens.

And Tru, Killbot LOVES to pick the fuck!ng Flower Kings. Much less of a chance to have to hear them if only 2old will pick them.

I don't see any reason to vote off AC/DC... :roll:

AC/DC are the quintessential hard rock band, even they themselves resent being labeled as heavy metal. So on that basis I suppose they have no place here on HMR

On the other hand:

I've no doubt I could find several hundred other bands I'd rather see gone from HMR first. But pitting them against a band like Spock's Beard in the voting would be fine with me. One lousy band gone, one good band safe :D

I totaly agree with you Pat!

Time to live up to the "Apostasy" claim in my interests.

One thing that doesn't belong (on the planet, let alone HMR) is Christian Metal. Unless you are listening for the aesthetic value of sound over content, nobody wants to hear this oxymoronic (or simply moronic) crap! The infiltration is devious!

Vote this crap off of here, because nobody picks the stuff, and Killbot would be the only one to do so - so if we ban Killbot from playing it, we won't have to hear it.

I can handle some Christian bands, as long as their actual musicianship is decent and they're not overly preachy. I definitely agree about P.U.D. though.
